If you like the original Casino but feel that you need something a bit smaller then this is definitely a guitar to consider.

The Casino Coupe is a more compact version of the Casino and it is more on par with the Les Paul in terms of size but it is a lot lighter. We are going to have a look at the shape and size of this guitar, how it sounds, its reliability as well as some of the other features that this electric guitar offers. I'll probably tinker some more on this one.Even though the Epiphone Casino has been used by some of the biggest names in the music business, how does the Casino Coupe model stack up? Overall, I think shes a keeper but don't expect to get a flawless instrument. The finish had some thicker spots that I lightly rubbed down with a non-abrasive kitchen sponge. I had to file the high and low E nut slots slightly. The bridge is much more stable now and the guitar resonates and sustains better. So I pulled those out and deformed the threads a little with some mechanical force (banging them with some pliers). I also restrung it and noticed that the bridge posts were SUPER loose, i.e. I fixed the rattly bridge by bending the wire a bit so the saddles stay put. The selector switch feels cheapish and the bridge is the wire version so it rattles acoustically.Īsk me anything, there isn't much info yet on these guitars. Nothing is popping out at me as terrible. I don't know if they are as good as the Gibson P-90's but they are better than the D'Angelico and older Epi's I've tried.

Very clear and articulate with the growl that you want out of a P-90. It has a normal nut width though so it doesn't feel tiny like some of the recent Casino's I've tried at Guitar Center. The neck profile is pretty slim with very little taper. This particular top had the most grain I've seen - many look really smooth with no grain.

Feels very satiny - but nothing like the worn nitro finishes that Gibson does. Hey Y'all, just got my Epiphone Casino in from Sweetwater.
